Region Given The Importance Of Tourism To The Economies Of Many Pacific Islands Supporting The Pacific Islands To Leverage The Tourism Sector For Economic Growth Is A Top Priority For Ifc The Pacific Island Of Vanuatu Receives Approximately 95 000 Holiday Tourists Per Year In Comparison Fiji Received 500 000 Holiday Visitors In 2012 And Bali More Than 2 Million To Increase Tourists Many Pacific Islands Including Vanuatu Are Looking To Prioritize Visitors From Fast Growing Tourism Markets In Asia Including China According To Data From The World Bank If The South Pacific Islands Can Triple Their Current Asian Arrivals Their Tourism Sectors Would Grow By 20 Or More Than Total Growth Over The Past Five Years From All Markets Program Under Ifcs Pacific Tourism Ii Program Ifc Is Focused On Growing Long Haul High Value Arrivals Specifically From The Outbound Chinese Market To Vanuatu Ifc Has Partnered With The Vanuatu Tourism Office Vto To Deliver Marketing Activities For The Next Two And A Half Years To Increase The Awareness Of Vanuatu In China And Drive Sales To Grow Chinese Tourist Arrivals To Vanuatu The Marketing Activities Are Aimed At Increasing The Products Available On The Market And To The Travel Trade Raising Awareness Of The Products And Destination And Undertaking Campaigns To Drive Sales Via Trade Relationships And Directly To Consumers Via Chinese Digital Travel Platforms Objective Ifc Requires A Consultant To Manage The Delivery Of The Vanuatu China Marketing Project Initially Until June 30 2019 But With The Possibility Of Extension After This Date B Scope Of Work The Consultant Is Required To Manage The Marketing Firm Engaged To Deliver The Marketing Activities And Ensure Their Deliverables Are Met Prior To June 30Th 2019 In Addition The Consultant Is Responsible For Managing The Representation Company Engaged To Deliver A Campaign Prior To June 30Th 2019 The Consultant Will Also Be Responsible For Communicating And Liaising With The Emerging Markets Counterpart In The Vto To Ensure That The Project Milestones Are Communicated And Meet The Shared Objectives Of Ifc And Vto It May Be Necessary For Some Activities To Be Supported And Facilitated On The Ground In Vanuatu But This Will Be Determined By The Project Leader And The Consultant Will Otherwise Be Expected To Manage The Work Remotely Ifcs Pacific Tourism Activities Are Implemented By A Team Based In Sydney Australia Ifc Is Seeking A Home Based Consultant To Be Responsible For Managing The Below Activities And The Two Consulting Firms Already Engaged To Deliver The Work From March 1 To June 30 2019 The Work Will Involve Coordinating With Stakeholders In Vanuatu To Communicate The Objectives Of The Activities As Well As Managing The Contracted Firms To Ensure The Deliverables Are Met And To Plan The Next Round Of Activities From July 2019 Onwards The Work May Involve Travel To Vanuatu But The Bulk Of The Work Will Be Delivered Remotely From Australia Or An Alternate Location Where Communication Is Easily Facilitated Within Australia Vanuatu Business Hours The Contract Will Be 40 Days In Total And Will Include The Following 1 Planning Coordination And Delivery Of Workshop In Vanuatu And Product Appraisal Week As Part Of The Current Activities A Workshop Is Scheduled For The 1St Week Of April In Which The Activity Objectives And Information Will Be Shared With Local Stakeholders In Vanuatu In Addition One Of The Consulting Firms Will Be Undertaking Product Appraisals To Identify Products To Add To Chinese Travel Digital Platforms As Well For Crafting Itineraries For Fit And To Promote To Consumers And Trade These Are Existing Product That Are Not Currently Connected To The Chinese Market But Show A Willingness To Become China Ready The Consultant Will Be Responsible For Coordinating The Product Appraisal Week And The Workshop Including The Event Planning An Ifc Tourism Team Member Will Be Responsible For Delivering The Ifc Portion Of The Content 2 Planning And Execution Of Bloggers Trip To VanuatuAs Part Of The Marketing Activities A Group Of Bloggers Will Be Engaged By The Consulting Firm To Travel To Vanuatu To Profile The Products In A Social Media Campaign Chosen From The Product Appraisal Week The Consultant Is Tasked With Supporting The Delivery Of The Trip By Helping To Plan The Week Accommodation And Flights And Coordinating With Operators And The Vto To Ensure That The Trip Is Successful 3 Managing The Delivery Of The Campaigns With Trade And The Representation Company The Consultant Will Be Tasked With Ensuring The Consulting Firms Deliver On Their Trade Campaigns In China There Are Currently Two Campaigns Planned For May 2019 And The Consultant Will Be Responsible For Ensuring They Are Delivered On Time And Are Reported On Accurately The Consultant Will Provide A Monthly Report On The Progress And Impact Of Activities Including Any Risks Identified And Prepare Communication Materials When Needed 4 Scoping The Next Phase Of The Marketing ActivitiesThe Consultant Will Be Tasked With Scoping The Next Phase Of The Marketing Activities For Vanuatu In China By Using The Results Of The Activities Undertaken In The March June Period The Consultant Will Draft A Plan For The Next Phase In Consultation With Stakeholders And Prepare Draft Terms Of Reference For The Work To Be Carried Forward
