The District Of Lower Bavaria Intends To Build A Rehabilitation Center With An Attached Forensic Aftercare Clinic At The Location Of The Straubing District Hospital. The Project Is Part Of The Restructuring Of The District Clinic And Serves To Improve The Rehabilitation And Reintegration Offers For Forensic Patients Outside The Existing Security Area. A Two-Story New Building With A Usable Area Of ​​Approx. 2,100 M² Is Planned. The Building Includes Inpatient Areas For Forensic Patients, An Outpatient Aftercare Facility, Therapy, Administration And Functional Areas As Well As An Underground Car Park. The Measure Also Includes Demolition Work, The Reorganization Of The Parking Spaces, Development Measures And The Design Of The Outdoor Areas With Therapeutic Lounge And Activity Areas. The Clients Goal Is To Submit The Application Documents For Funding For The Measure To The Office For Corrections Or To The Government Of Lower Bavaria By September 2027. The Total Project Costs Are Currently Estimated At Around €25 Million Gross.
