Tenders Are Invited For Canadian Participation In The Esa Space Weather Service Network Feasibility Study

Tenders are invited for Canadian Participation in the ESA Space Weather Service Network Feasibility Study. This feasibility study shall analyse Canadian space weather assets including measurement, modelling and service provision capabilities and carry out initial pre-developments demonstrating these assets potential incorporation into the ESA Space Weather Service Network. Assets providing data access to be reviewed shall include both space and ground-based sensors along with data archives and repositories. Available assets shall be reviewed in terms of the Space Safety Programmes space weather customer and service requirements baseline along with the current level of service provided by the existing Space Weather Service Network in order to highlight priority areas where Canadian assets are expected to bring substantial capability enhancements. Consideration shall be given to the development planning prepared by the five Expert Service Centres participating in the network to ensure complementarity. Recommendations shall include identification of a set of high priority product development activities in key areas highlighting the potential contribution of Canadian space weather assets and capabilities both alone and in combination with other existing or potential SWE Service Network participants. Predevelopment shall take place in order to produce a set of representative product mock-ups. The first products shall be foreseen for integration into the SWE Service Network within the 2026 timeframe.
