Work Detail
Tenders are invited for Consulting Services for the Development, Validation and Implementation of Training Programs in Climate-Smart Agriculture, Climate Risk Management and Financial Education in Benin and Burkina Faso Overall objective: to strengthen the capacity of women-led MSMEs, cooperatives, smallholder farmers and the institutions that support them to understand climate risks, to adopt and promote climate-smart agricultural practices and technologies adapted to their context, to make informed financial and business decisions and to integrate climate resilience into their activities and investment choices. Specific objectives: Develop and validate a modular, gender-sensitive, and directly applicable field training curriculum covering climate change and climate risks, CSA practices and technologies adapted to the local context, climate-responsive planning, financial literacy and business resilience, and relevant environmental and social safeguards. Produce facilitator guides, participant materials, practical tools, case studies, visual aids and assessment instruments in French and at least one relevant local language per country, designed for low-literacy audiences and reusable by the AECF, extension services and participating institutions. Facilitate at least eight intensive capacity-building workshops (at least four per country) based on the validated curriculum, reaching a total of at least 500 direct participants, including at least 50% women and at least 20% youth, and establish a practical dissemination mechanism to spread key messages beyond direct workshop participants. Propose and implement a sustainability and transfer plan so that the curriculum continues to be used after the end of the project. 4. Scope of the Mission The mission unfolds in two successive stages: Step 1 focuses on the development and technical validation of the CSA curriculum. Step 2 focuses on implementing the training with the beneficiaries based on this validated curriculum. The firm selected under these Terms of Reference is responsible for both stages. 4.1. Targeted beneficiaries and participants Participants will primarily come from women-led MSMEs, cooperatives, and smallholder farmers already supported by the AECFs Investing in Women in Benin and Burkina Faso (IIW-B&BF) program, as well as agronomists, extension agents, and MFI staff who directly support these IIW partners. The AECF will confirm the beneficiary institutions, participant lists, and locations in consultation with the firm. Key participants: owners or managers of women-led MSMEs and relevant members of their staff, cooperative leaders, pilot producers and smallholder farmers linked to participating IIW enterprises and cooperatives, in the targeted agricultural value chains. Secondary participants: agronomists, extension agents and agents of participating or concerned local MFIs who provide technical or financial services to targeted IIW enterprises, cooperatives and producers. The workshops will be organized in accessible rural hubs, serving the participating IIW beneficiary groups and, where possible, in agroecological areas exposed to significant climatic hazards. The locations will be determined in consultation with the AECF, taking into account the geographical distribution of IIW partners, climate vulnerability, accessibility, and cost-effectiveness. The firm is not required to recruit beneficiaries outside the Women ADAPT/IIW target group solely to reach the planned enrollment numbers. [Disclaimer: The above text is machine translated.
