The Works Comprise Roof Repairs And Associated Conservation Works To St. Michaels Theatre, South Street, New Ross, Co. Wexford, A Protected Structure (Rps No. Nr0125, Niah Ref. 15605062). The Works Include The Removal And Safe Disposal Of Existing Asbestos-Containing Roof Sheeting, Replacement Of Defective Roof Timbers Where Required, And Installation Of New Eternit Farmtec Profile 6 Fibre Cement Corrugated Roof Sheeting, Including Associated Ridge Details, Eaves Details And Rainwater Goods, All In Accordance With The Architects Drawings. The Works Shall Also Include Localised Repairs To The Existing Original Plaster And Lath Features Within The Auditorium. All Works Shall Be Carried Out With Due Regard To The Buildings Protected Status, Retaining And Conserving Historic Fabric Wherever Practicable. The Purpose Of The Works Is To Remedy Roof Leaks, Remove Asbestos-Containing Materials, Undertake Necessary Structural Repairs And Safeguard The Historic Building.
