The Subject Of The Project Is The Planning And Implementation Of A New Laboratory Animal Facility For The Leibniz Institute For Analytical Sciences (Isas E.V.) At The Dortmund Location. The New Building Is Intended To Create Additional Capacity For Biomedical Research. Animal Husbandry Areas For Laboratory Rodents Including Spf (Specific Pathogen Free) Husbandry, Open Housing And Quarantine Areas, Experimental Animal Husbandry Rooms, An Animal Operating Room, Laboratory Areas, Office And Social Rooms As Well As All Infrastructure, Supply And Disposal As Well As Technical Areas Required For Operation Are Planned. The Building Is Designed As A Highly Installed Research Building With Special Requirements For Hygiene, Biosecurity, Security Of Supply And Technical Building Equipment. The Main Planning Goals Are The Optimization Of Internal Functional Processes, Ensuring A High Level Of Operational Flexibility And The Possibility Of Future Expansion Of Research And Animal Husbandry Capacities. The Facility Is Intended To Provide Capacity For Keeping Up To Around 4,000 Laboratory Rodents And Also Enable Use By External Research Groups.
