Work Detail
Tenders are invited for Low-Impact Velocity Tools for Verification and Validation of Close Proximity Operations Strategies Expro+ Price Range : 200-500 KEURO Objective: To develop a comprehensive set of rigorously tested tools that ensures monitoring, risk assessment, and collision avoidance for close proximity operations.Description: Past activities related to Close Proximity Operations (CPO) highlighted the need ofdeveloping low impact velocity tools that can verify and validate that the servicer spacecraft (SC) maintains a collision risk probability of less than given threshold (e.g 10^-4) with the client SC during CPO. For missions involving multiple SC in close formation, the design of manoeuvres to avoid collisions with catalogue objects not belonging to the formation requires to take into account all SC of the formation, e.g. an avoidance manoeuvre performed by one SC of the formation shall not trigger an inner-formation collision risk but rather minimise disturbance to the formation while ensuring the required risk reduction. This activity aims at developing a comprehensive set of tools (e.g. DRAMA like tool, prototype software for formation flying) that ensure monitoring, risk assessment, and collision avoidance during close proximity operations (including formation flying). This activity encompasses the followingtasks: - Develop and refine software tools that model the trajectory of both the target and servicer. - Develop algorithms that identify safe trajectories for close approaches and include collision avoidance features. - Develop tools that perform uncertainty propagation to estimate the likelihood of a collision between the servicer and client. - Identify sensor systems capable of providing design and operational level data about the relative positions, velocities, and orientations of both the servicer and the target. - Conduct virtual testing within the developed tools to simulate close approach and rendezvous operations in various scenarios. - Develop mathematical models of constraints and requirements and prototype a software solution suitable for realistic scenarios.Read more Tender Link : https://esastar-publication-ext.sso.esa.int/ESATenderActions/filter/open
