Tenders Are Invited For Delivery Of An Open Networking Switch With 1.6 Tbit/S Ports

The Switch Is Needed To Build The High-Speed Network Infrastructure In The C2panda Research Project. With Native 1.6 Tbit/S Ports, It Represents The Current Spearhead Of Technically Available Ethernet Switching And Thus Creates A Future-Proof Upper Performance Level For The Planned Laboratory. The Platform Will Be Used In Particular For Research On 800G/400G Connections, Breakout Scenarios, Open Networking, Lossless Ethernet/Rdma, Telemetry And The Interoperability Of Different Network Operating Systems And Hardware Platforms. At The Same Time, The 1.6T Level Makes It Possible To Integrate Future High-Speed Components Into The Laboratory Environment Without Having To Replace The Central Switching Infrastructure Again In The Short Term. The Open Architecture With Onie/Sai And Multi-Nos Capability Deliberately Creates A Long-Term, Manufacturer-Independent Research Platform That Can Reflect Both Current And Future Developments In The Area Of High-Speed Networks.
