Architectural Services For Outdoor Areas - Open Space Planning Implementation Competition With Traffic Aspects, Redesign Of The Town Center, Municipality Of Heikendorf. As Part Of The “Living Centers” Urban Development Funding Program, The Municipality Of Heikendorf Is Organizing An Open Space Planning Implementation Competition With Transport Components. The Aim Of The Competition Is To Develop Innovative And Locally Adapted Open Space Concepts As A Basis For The Subsequent Reorganization Of The Public Open Spaces And Traffic Areas In The Center Of The Municipality Of Heikendorf. The Need For Action To Redesign And Upgrade The Town Center Was Highlighted In The Update Of The Integrated Urban Development Concept From 2025 (Gos Mbh). The Implementation Of An Open Space Planning Competition Is Named As A Preparatory Measure. The Aim Of The Procedure Is To Initiate A Transformation Process Towards A Sustainable And Attractive Town Center For All Population Groups In The Community. The Competition Area Includes Dorfstrasse As The Central Axis Between Dreangel Streets In The East And Teichtor Streets In The West. A Particular Focus Is On The Reorganization Of The Village Square, Former School And Parking Lot At Schulredder In Order To Create An Identity-Creating Town Center With Housing, Culture, Retail, Restaurants And Public Uses. Another Focus Is On The Development Of The Area At Schmiedeplatz As An Existing Local Supply Location. Due To The Close Spatial And Functional Connections, Uniform, Coordinated Open Space Planning Is Particularly Important For These Areas. The Overarching Goals For The Redesign Of The Competition Area Are: • Creation Of High-Quality Lounge Areas And Increasing The Time Spent In Public Spaces • Qualitative Improvement Of Path Connections And Improvement For Cycling And Pedestrian Traffic • Barrier-Free Design • Consideration Of Climate Protection And Climate Adaptation
