Bids Are Invited For Housing Readiness Zoning Review & Housing-Supportive Bylaw Framework

The District Of Tofino (The District) Invites Proposals From Qualified Planning, Land Use, And Development Consulting Firms To Undertake A Housing Readiness Zoning Review And Housing-Supportive Bylaw Framework Project.This Project Is Supported Through A $100,000 Grant Awarded Under The Union Of Bc Municipalities (Ubcm) Local Government Development Approvals Program (Lgdap) And Is Intended To Assist The District In Improving Regulatory Clarity, Reducing Barriers To Housing Development, And Supporting Future Implementation Of Housing-Supportive Zoning Amendments.The District Is Experiencing Sustained Housing Pressures Within A Constrained Land Base And Is Seeking Specialized Expertise To Undertake A Detailed Review Of Its Zoning Bylaw And Related Development Regulations To Identify Barriers, Inconsistencies, And Opportunities To Improve Housing Readiness.The Successful Proponent Will Provide Strategic Planning, Regulatory Review, Facilitation, And Technical Advisory Services That Will Position The District To Efficiently Implement Future Housing-Supportive Regulatory Changes, While Maintaining Alignment With Local Planning Objectives And Provincial Housing Requirements.
