Tenders are invited for Effectiveness Study of Cooking Demonstrations for Farmers/Caregivers with Children Under 5 The Transforming Lives Through Nutrition (Transforming Lives) program is funded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and implemented globally by Helen Keller Intl, Vitamin Angels, and iDE. It aims to improve the nutrition and well-being of underserved pregnant women, infants, and young children through stronger health and food systems and improved access to nutritious foods. In Cambodia, iDE supports Transforming Lives through exclusive breastfeeding, WASH, entrepreneurship, and Agriculture and Food Systems (AFS). Under AFS, regenerative home gardens, agricultural training, community cooking demonstrations, and nutrition awareness activities aim to improve household access to diverse, safe, and nutritious foods, particularly for women of reproductive age and families with children under five. Community cooking demonstrations link household food production with improved nutrition practices. Using locally available and affordable ingredients, they promote dietary diversity, food safety and hygiene, appropriate food preparation, and age-appropriate complementary feeding. Demonstrations are generally linked to diverse home gardens, where participants identify and harvest ingredients and prepare nutrient-dense meals. These include Bor Khab Krob Kroeung (BKK), a locally prepared complementary porridge for children aged 659 months, as well as other dishes combining diverse vegetables and locally available protein sources.
