Since January 1, 2022, The Municipalities Are Responsible For The Collection And Recycling Of Waste Paper After The Previous Producer Responsibility Was Abolished. From 1 July 2026, A Reformed Waste Legislation Came Into Force Which Means That Professional Businesses Have Their Own Responsibility For, Among Other Things, Return Paper And Used Office Paper. The Municipalitys Previous Sole Responsibility For These Waste Flows Has Thus Changed And Been Replaced By A System Where The Municipality In Some Cases Has So-Called Secondary Responsibility. The Procurement Is Carried Out Against The Background Of This Changed Legislation And Aims To Ensure An Efficient And Effective Collection Of The Returnable Paper Flows That Are Still Covered By The Municipalitys Responsibility. The Municipality Of Nyköping Intends To Purchase An Operator For The Collection Of Recycled Paper In The Municipality. This Procurement Covers The Collection, Transport, Sorting, Storage, Handling And Disposal Of Recycled Paper From The Municipalitys Recycling Stations (Åvs), Apartment Buildings And Other Community Facilities And Municipal Operations. Collection Via Four-Compartment Bins Is Not Included In This Procurement. The Procurement Also Includes Disposal Of Collected Volumes Collected By The Municipality Under Its Own Authority Via Four-Compartment Bins And Tipped At The Transshipment Station, Björshults Waste Facility. The Collected Volume In Nyköping Municipality Amounted To 214 Tons In 2025. From September 2026, The Municipality Of Nyköping Will Start Collecting Waste Paper Via Four-Compartment Bins Under Its Own Authority, Which Means An Expected Reduction In The Amount Of Waste Paper Mainly At The Recycling Stations.
