Bruxelles-Propreté Manages The Waste That Is Brought To Recyparks In The Brussels-Capital Region. The Purpose Of The Contract Is To Provide Packaging, Collection, Transport And Processing Of Used Mattresses Collected Via Recyparks. A Used Mattress Is Defined As Any Mattress Which The Holder Discards Or Which He Intends Or Is Obliged To Discard And Which Constitutes Waste Within The Meaning Of The Waste Ordinance Of June 14, 2012, Regardless Of Its Mass, Shape, Volume, Composition Or Use. A Mattress Is Defined As A Product Intended For Sleeping And Resting, Which Can Be Used By Any Person For A Long Period Of Time, Consisting Of A Solid Cover, Padded With Basic Materials, And Capable Of Being Placed On A Support Bed Structure, As Well As Mattress Toppers Which Are Placed On The Mattresses (Order Of The Government Of The Brussels-Capital Region Of December 1, 2016 Relating To Waste Management). The Packaging To Be Made Available To The Agency Is Described In The Technical Requirements (Title Ii, B, 3). Used Mattresses Will Be Processed Through A Recycling Process. Recycling Is Defined As Any Recovery Operation By Which Waste Is Reprocessed Into Products, Materials Or Substances For The Purposes Of Their Initial Function Or For Other Purposes. This Includes The Reprocessing Of Organic Materials, But Does Not Include Energy Recovery, Conversion For Use As Fuel Or For Backfilling Operations (Article 3, 22° Of The Ordinance Relating To Waste Of June 14, 2012).
