Work Detail
Architectural, Construction, Engineering And Inspection Services – Competition For The Redesign Of The Lippegarten. The Background To The Award Is The Integrated Urban Development Concept (Isek), Which Was Developed Between June 2024 And July 2025. This Envisages The Redesign Of The Lippegarten In The Historic Old Town Of Lemgo As A Central Urban Development Measure. Implementation Is Scheduled For The End Of 2030 And Will Be Carried Out With The Help Of Urban Development Funding. In Preparation For The Funding Application, A Partial Isek Is Currently Being Created With A Prioritized Action Program In Which The Upgrading Of The Lippegarten Is Anchored As A Core Measure. The Subject Of The Competition Area Is The Lippegarten Including The Adjacent Streets With A Total Area Of Around 3000 M². Next To The Market Square, The Lippegarten Is The Largest City Square Centrally Located In The Old Town. It Forms The Connection Between The Engelbert-Kaempfer-Gymnasium (Ekg) To The South And The Pedestrian Zone Adjacent To The Northeast. The Open Space Planning Implementation Competition According To Rpw 2013 Serves To Find A Design That Combines Optimal Usability Of The Lippegarten With A High, Site-Appropriate Design Quality. The Aim Is To Upgrade And Multifunctionally Use The Lippegarten As An Inner-City Lounge Area. To This End, A Concept Should Be Developed That Takes Into Account The Following Guidelines: - Increasing The Usability Of The Space For All Age Groups, Especially For Children And Young People. - Strengthening Its Function As A Link Between The Engelbert-Kaempfer-Gymnasium (Ekg) Monument And The City Center. - Increasing The Quality Of Stay In Everyday Life While At The Same Time Being Able To Be Used Temporarily For Events. - Development Of A Climate-Resilient Design Taking Into Account The Sponge City Principle And Integration Of High-Quality Green Structures. - Creation Of A Visual And Functional Connection Between Lippegarten And The Adjacent Uses And The Surrounding Buildings. - Removing Visual And Structural Barriers To Create A Barrier-Free Public Space.
