The Province Is Seeking Proposals From Qualified Contractors To Implement Manual Wildfire Risk Reduction Fuel Treatment Activities Within Treatment Unit 3 Of The Fox Farm Road Project Area Near Iron Mountain And The Fox Farm Community. The Work Area Is Approximately 16.7 Hectares Net Area To Be Treated, With Prescribed Activities Including Thinning, Pruning, Piling, And Pile Burning To Reduce Surface, Ladder, And Aerial Fuel Hazards In A Mature Dry Belt Douglas-Fir And Ponderosa Pine Stand. 7.2 Hectares Is Pile Burning Only In Adjacent Tu 1. The Treatment Is Intended To Reduce Wildfire Risk To The Adjacent Community, Improve Suppression Opportunities, Address Root Rot Related Standing Dead And Declining Stems, And Support Future Maintenance Treatment Opportunities, While Protecting Identified Values Including Spanish Creek Riparian Considerations, Wildlife Trees, Cultural Values, Recreation Use, Range Interests, Utilities, And Other Environmental And Safety Requirements Identified In The Approved Fuel Management Prescription. The Maximum Available Budget For The Contract Is $112,760.00, Exclusive Of Applicable Taxes.
