Work Detail
Type Of Service As Part Of This Award, The University Of Münster (Um) Is Looking For A Provider To Carry Out A Representative Quantitative Survey Of The 16 To 75 Year Old German-Speaking Resident Population With An Average Duration Of 35/40 Minutes Using Mixed Survey Methods. An Online Survey (Cawi) With A Supplementary Postal Survey (Paper And Pencil Interviews, Papi) Is To Be Carried Out. The Written Questionnaire Will Only Be Sent After The Invitation To The Online Survey Has Been Sent Via The First Reminder. This Is Intended To Prioritize The Online Survey. This Approach Enables Better Control Of The Vignette Sets Via The Online Survey. Based On A Population Registration Office Sample (Ema), A Representative Random Sample Of The Resident Population With German Citizenship Living In Germany Should Be Drawn And A Corresponding Representative Net Sample Of N = 2,500 With At Least 60 (And Up To 80) Primary Sample Units (Psu) Should Be Achieved: E.G. B. Stratified According To Town Size And/Or Region, Also In Such A Way That A Representative Comparison Of The Old And New Federal States Is Possible. Sufficient Addresses Must Be Planned From The Gross Sample For A Functional Field Pretest. Experimentally Varied Vignettes Are Used For Hypothetical Surveillance Scenarios In Social Crisis Situations With Four Dimensions Of Political And Social Situations. Two Dimensions Should Be Varied On Three Levels And Two Dimensions On Two Levels (3X3x2x2 As A Within-Subjects Design), Resulting In A Total Of 36 Vignettes. Each Vignette Should Be Rated At Least 150 Times, Resulting In 7,200 Vignette Ratings. Each Respondent Is Asked To Rate Six Vignettes Regarding (A) Acceptability, (B) Legitimacy And (C) Expected Effectiveness Of The Surveillance Measures (6 Randomized Vignette Sets). Assuming Small Effect Sizes (D = 0.1-0.2), This Results In A Required Sample Size Of At Least N = 1,200 People (7,200:6). Due To The Socio-Demographic And Attitudinal Covariates As Well As Item Non-Response, A Net Sample Of N = 2,500 Valid Surveys Is Required.
