The Lib Currently Operates Three Μ-Computed Tomographs At The Bonn Location. The Lib Scans A Wide Variety Of Organic Samples, Mainly Animals, That Are Partially Stained, In Liquids, Air-Dried Or Otherwise Fixed. Almost Never Two Identical Samples Or Species Are Scanned. The User Therefore Places Extreme Demands On The New Device In Terms Of Versatility And Setting Options. Two Of The Existing Devices Are Getting Old And Will Soon Be Retired Before Their Sources Fail Completely. This Is A Device With A Flatfield Panel That Can Scan Samples Up To 10 Cm In Diameter And Approx. 16 Cm In Length. Typical Applications At The Lib For This Device Include Head Scans Of Snakes, Fish Or Recordings Of Entire Lizards. The Second Device Has A Ccd Detector With 4000 X 4000 Pixels, Which Enables High-Resolution Scans Of Small Samples Such As Insects Or Heads Of Small Fish (Rice Fish). Both Devices Are Used Intensively At The Lib And Both Size And Requirement Spectrums Are Also Needed Again.
