The Institute Of Chemical Sciences And Engineering (Isic) Of The École Polytechnique Fédérale De Lausanne (Epfl) Wishes To Acquire A State-Of-The-Art Xps System Equipped With A Uv Source For The Ups, A Monatomic Ion Gun And A Gas Aggregate Gun For Depth Profiling. The Instrument Will Be Open Access And Will Serve Around 40 Research Groups, Primarily From Isic And The Institute Of Materials Science And Engineering (Imx), As Well As Other Users Across Epfl. In This Multi-User Context, Easy Handling Of The Instrument And Its Software, A Low Risk Of Mishandling, Limited Measurement Artifacts, As Well As Rapid And Efficient Rotation Between Users Are Essential Prerequisites. Due To The Great Diversity Of Research Carried Out At Epfl, The Chosen Instrument Must Offer A Wide Range Of Functionalities. It Should Not Be Limited To A Particular Type Of Measurement And Should Remain Open To Future Upgrades And Developments.
