Work Detail
Prior Information Notice For Laboratory, Optical And Precision Equipments (Excl. Glasses) – Vorinformation Hyperpolarisator Neubau Carddiab. The University Hospital Düsseldorf Intends To Purchase A Hyperpolarizer For The New Carddiab Research Building. This Is A Device For Producing A 13C-Labeled Solution (At Least Pyruvate) Whose Degree Of Polarization Is Above The Degree Of Polarization Expected From Boltzmann Statistics (Hyperpolarized). In The Following, Such A Solution Is Called A Sample. The Quantity And Degree Of Polarization Of The Samples Must Be Produced On A Scale That Is Sufficient For Research On Pigs (Approx. 150 Kg). Ideally, An Application On Humans Is Possible In The Future. An Applicable Sample Should Therefore Have A Volume Of Approx. 40 Ml And The Degree Of Polarization Should Be More Than 10% After Generation Is Complete. The Following Versions Are Permitted: - Dynamic Nuclear Polarization The Starting Material Of The Sample Is Placed Deep-Cooled In A Magnetic Field With A Flux Density Greater Than Or Equal To 5 T. By Irradiation With Electromagnetic Waves Of A Suitable Frequency, The Spins Of The Electrons Polarized By Temperature And Magnetic Field Are Transferred To The 13C Nucleus. - Parahydrogen-Induced Polarization The Starting Material Of The Liquid Sample Is Hydrogenated Together With A Carrier Molecule In A Solution With Parahydrogen. The Transfer Of The Nuclear Spin From The Parahydrogen To The 13C Nucleus Is Supported By Appropriate Modulation Of A Time-Varying Magnetic Field. After Separation From The Carrier Molecule, The Hyperpolarized Sample Is Placed In The Syringe For Application. - Other Procedures Procedures Other Than Those Described Here Are Also Permitted. When Submitting Your Expression Of Interest, Please Describe The Process In This Case And Enclose Relevant Studies. If Ordered, The Device Would Have To Be Delivered With All Possibly Necessary Additional Units Such As Vacuum Pumps, Cooling Units, Electrical Sub-Distribution Units, Etc. And Installed Ready For Operation. Installation And Commissioning Must Take Place By July 31, 2027.
