The Contractor And The Estimated Value Of The Work Will Be: Cannepp Boiler Room Technologies At Unit #6 – 7449 Hume Ave, Delta, Bc V4g 1C3 Estimated Budget: $220,000-$320,00 Plus Gst Required Completion: October 23, 2026 The Scope Of Work Includes The Control Upgrade For Three (3) Existing Cleaver Brooks Firetube Hot Water Boilers (Cb200-200)At The Koerner Pavilion, Ubc Hospital. This Upgrade Will Install The Cleaver Brooks Hawk 1000 Controls Package With Required Combustion Controls Including Precision Fuel-Air Control, O₂trim And Combustion-Air Vsd Control And Burner Management Maintained As A Separate Safety Device From Combustion Control. Integrated Boiler Sequencing And Built-Intwo-Boilerlead-Lag Is Another Required Function To Enable Better Control And Extend Asset Life. Required Technical Installation Services: Supply, Install, Commission. Provide Cleaver Brooks Factory Certified Burner And Controls Technician To Start Up, Test, Demonstrate And Train On Site Operators. Provide Documentation Including Operation & Maintenance Manuals, Boiler Wiring Diagrams, Startup Reports, Inspection Certificates. Local Service And Support Available. Vch Has Chosen To Direct Award The Contract For The Following Reasons: Technical Compatibility And Local Service The Three (3) Cleaver Brooks Hot Water Boilers Currently Use A Honeywell Flame Controller To Regulate The Fuel-To-Air Ratio. This Controller Was Declared Obsolete And Replacement Parts Are No Longer Available. A Failure Of The Controller Will Have Direct Impact On Space And Domestic Hot Water Heating, Critical For Patient Care And Lab Spaces In Koerner Pavilion. The Cleaver Brooks Hawk 1000 Controller Package Will Control Cleaver Brooks Cb200-200 Boilers, This Is The Lowest Risk Controller With Boiler-Specific Engineering And Existing Cleaver-Brooks Service Relationship. The Hawk 1000 Controls Have Tested Wire-For-Wire Compatibility With The Existing Cleaver-Brooks Integral Burners, Gas Valves, Oil Controllers, Scanners, Limit Circuits, And Actuator Mounting Hardware And Geometry. Cannepp Is The Contractor Servicing The Boilers At Ubch And The Only Authorized Representative For Cleaver Brooks In Bc. Cost Considerations Proceeding With The Hawk 1000 Upgrade With Cannepp Allows The Utilization Of The Existing Platform And Infrastructure. Switching To Another Control System Would Require Additional Investments In New Control Software, Licenses, Engineering Reprogramming, And Staff Retraining. Cannepp Is An Approved Natural Gas Equipment Supplier For Fortisbc, Offering Commercial And Industrial Boiler Solutions Eligible For Energy-Efficiency Rebates. The Hawk 1000 Controller’S Operational Performance Has Been Vetted By Fortisbc And Will Attract A $49K Incentive For Each Boiler. An Alternate Controller That Is Not Oem May Put This Incentive At Risk. Schedule And Risk Mitigation Cannepp’S Familiarity With The Existing System Allows For A Streamlined Design, Installation, And Commissioning Process, Reducing The Project Timeline And Risks. Other Vendors Would Require Additional Effort And Time To Reverse-Engineer Existing Sequences And Integrate With Incompatible Systems. The Required Completion Date Ofoctober 23, 2026 Is Assertive To Ensure This Installation Can Occur Before Heating Demand Increases. Delaying This Work Adds Operational Risks That Can Impact Patients And Staff. Service Agreement Alignment Cannepp Is The Only Authorized Vendor In Bc For Servicing And Maintaining Cleaver Brooks Boilers. Adding A Different Vendor’S System Would Create Service Gaps And Complicate Future Maintenance And Support Responsibilities.
