Road Bridge Construction Work – Replacement Bridge Over The Giessen, Grünaustrasse (Gi 8). The Giessenbrücke Grünaustrasse (Gi 8) Is In A Damaged Condition And Has Been Limited To A Maximum Total Vehicle Load Of 30 Tons. In Order To Create The Basement Of The Chez Fritz Development, Part Of The Northern Bridge Console Must Be Demolished And Converted And Reinforced Due To The Parcel Exit (Delivery). The Existing Sidewalk Areas May Not Be Used And The Flow Profile Does Not Correspond To The Water Volumes Currently Required For Dimensioning. By Decision Of The City Council, The Bridge Is To Be Replaced By A New Building, Whereby, On The One Hand, The Span Must Be Massively Increased For Hydraulic Reasons, And On The Other Hand, The Lower Edge Of The Bridge Slab Must Not Be Lowered Any Further Compared To The Existing Structure. The New Bridge Is Designed As An Oblique, Single-Span Reinforced Concrete Slab With A Clear Width Of 14.49 M (At The Street Axis) Or 12.60 M (At Right Angles To The Stream Axis), A Total Width Of 13.80 M And A Thickness Of 60.5 Cm To 0.81 Cm. The Bridge Slab Is Monolithically Connected To The Abutments (Integral Construction). The Abutments Will Be Aligned Parallel To The Pouring, With The West-Side Abutment Being Adapted To The Alignment Of The Basement External Wall Chez Fritz And Thus Being Shifted Slightly To The East Compared To The Current Position. The Structure Is Founded Flatly In The Rhine Gravel. During The Construction Of The Bridge, Traffic Including Bus Traffic Will Be Temporarily Routed Over The Upstream Access Bridge (Gi 7) And The Northern Part Of The Parking Lot To Heldaustrasse Without Heavy Traffic (Max. 30 Tons) Due To The “Chez Fritz” Property Currently Under Construction. A Total Construction Time Of 8 Months Is Expected For The Execution.
