Work Detail
Coastal Defense Works – Køge Dikes – Dikes, High Water Walls And High Water Sports In Snogebækken. Over Time, Køge Has Been Hit By Some Particularly Powerful Storm Surges And Has Thus Been Flooded Several Times. As A Result Of The Climate-Related Rise In Sea Level, The Frequency Of Flooding Of Køge Is Expected To Increase In The Future. The State Has Designated Køge Bugt As A Risk Area For Flooding In Accordance With The Eus Flood Directive. Against This Background, Køge Municipality Has Launched A Coastal Protection Project, Køge Dike. The Purpose Of Køge Dike Is To Protect Køge Municipalitys Coastal Urban Areas Against Flooding From The Sea, And When Completed, Will Stretch Over Most Of Køge Municipalitys Coastline From Skensved Å In The North, Down Over Køge Harbor And Towards Vedskølle Å In The South. Coastal Protection Will Consist Of Dykes, High-Water Walls And High-Water Gates, As Well As Pumps For Handling Water From The Hinterland. Køge Dige Is Divided Into Three Sub-Areas: Sub-Area 1: Københavnsvej. The Northern Part, Which Stretches From The Municipal Border Towards Solrød Municipality To The Point Along Værtsvej, North Of Køge Marina, Where The Existing Terrain Itself Becomes Sufficiently High To Provide Protection. Here, Coastal Protection Will Be Established As A Starting Point As A Dyke East Of Københavnsvej And Around The Urban Areas East Of Københavnsvej, Just As A High-Water Gate Will Be Established In Snogebækken. At Havstokken, A Combination Of High Water Wall And Dykes Will Be Established On A Short Stretch. Pumping Stations In This Sub-Area Are Tendered Separately, And Must Be Established In Another Contract - Not Covered By This Tender. Subarea 2: Køge Marina And Køge Harbour. The Central Part Of Køge Dike Includes Køge Marina And Køge Harbour. On This Part, The Coastal Protection Consists Of High-Water Walls And Terrain Elevations On The Northern Part Of The Harbour, As Well As A Large High-Water Gate In The Public Harbor (Slipset). The Task Of Establishing The Large High-Water Gate In Køge Havn, With Associated Gate Channel And Pumping Station, Is Offered In A Separate Tender With Associated Delivery Contract, And It Is Not Part Of This Contract - Not Covered By This Tender. At Søndre Havn, It Is Only Coastal Protection At Køge Rowing Club, Which Forms Part Of The Køge Dike And The Present Tender. Subarea 3: Strandvejen. The Southern Area Includes The Stretch From The Strandpromenade At Kjøge Miniby To Vedskølle Å. Here, Strandvejen Acts As The Protection For The Majority Of The Stretch. A Dyke Will Be Established Around Hotel Comwell, And The Forest Road, Which Runs Through A Forest Area Immediately North Of Vedskølle Å, Will Be Raised. The Tendered Main Contract Includes High Water/Coastal Protection In The Three Sub-Areas By Establishing Approximately: • 5,000 Meters Of Dykes • 1,900 Meters Of Ditches Along The Back Of The Dykes • Building In Approx. 75,000 Cubic Meters Of Land • 1,400 Meters Of High-Water Walls/Sheets With Openings For Bulkheads • 400 Meters Of Terrain Regulation • High-Water Sports In Snogebækken. The Tendered Construction Work Is Described In More Detail In The Tender Documents.
