Work Detail
Oscilloscopes – High Bandwidth Oscilloscope. An Electro-Optical Characterization Platform For Photonic Ics Was Developed At The Vub B-Phot. This Setup Supports Experiments On New Lasers And Integrated Systems Such As Multi-Wavelength Lasers For Telecom, Lidar And Neuromorphic Applications. Although Current Equipment Supports Various Electrical/Optical I/O Combinations In The Optical C-Band Up To 50 Ghz — Including Top-Of-The-Line Tunable Lasers, Single-Channel Arbitrary Waveform Generator, Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer, And An Ultra-High-Resolution Optical Spectrum Analyzer — Limitations Remain In Intensity-Phase (Iq) Modulation And Time-Domain Acquisition For Coherent Detection. This Limits Our Ability To Generate And Analyze Advanced Modulation Formats And Dynamic Signals. We Therefore Request An Oscilloscope With 50 Ghz Bandwidth As An Essential Extension. Together With Existing Equipment, This Enables The Generation And Characterization Of Complex Optical Or Electrical Signals, In Time And Frequency Up To 50 Ghz. This Expansion Strengthens The Existing Infrastructure, Opens New Lines Of Research, And Supports Hands-On Training For Students And Collaboration With Academic And Industrial Partners.
