The Bottrop Sewage Treatment Plant (Kla Bot) Of The Emschergenossenschaft (Also: Eg) Has A Wastewater Treatment Capacity Of Around 1.34 Million Inhabitants. The Catchment Area Includes Areas Of The Cities Of Bottrop, Bochum, Essen, Gelsenkirchen And Gladbeck. In 1928 The Bottrop Sewage Treatment Plant Was Put Into Operation. Over The Last Few Years, Numerous Generation Plants, A Steam Turbine For Sewage Sludge Incineration, Four Sewage Gas Chps, A Wind Turbine (Wea) And Four Natural Gas Chps Have Been Built At The Sewage Treatment Plant. Some Pv Systems Are Currently Under Construction. These Generation Plants Are All Operated Exclusively In Parallel With The Grid. An Option For Island Operation In Emergencies Should Be Created.
