The Ministry Of Forests Forest Science Planning And Practices Branch Is Seeking A Qualified Contractor To Complete The Re-Measurement And Maintenance On One Installation (Ep 1318.01) Of The Salal Cedar Hemlock Integrated Research Program (Schirp), A Long-Term Growth And Yield Research Installation Located Near Port Mcneill On The Coast Of British Columbia. The Anticipated Term Is From October 7, 2026, To March 15, 2027.Established Nearly 40 Years Ago, Schirp Is A Key Component Of The Ministrys Network Of Stand Management Research Trials Designed To Evaluate The Long-Term Effects Of Planting Density, Fertilization, Stand Development, And Silvicultural Treatments On Forest Growth And Yield. The Installation Consists Of 128 Permanent Sample Plots Distributed Across Cedar-Hemlock And Hemlock-Amabilis Forest Types And Includes More Than 17,000 Previously Measured Trees, Consisting Of Both Original Study Trees And Documented Ingress.The Successful Contractor Will Be Responsible For Accessing, Locating, Maintaining, And Re-Measuring All The Research Plots In Accordance With Ministry Standards And Protocols.
