Brief Description of Works: The Purpose of this Tender is to Execute a Project Intended to Build Ablution Areas in Main Library, Sultan Qaboos University Campus. The Works will Include Civil and Electro-Mechanical Works, including but not Limited to Dismantling, Cutting, Removal, Replacements and Renewal of Existing Services. It will be the Contractors Responsibility to Visit the Site, Make Aware of the Existing Site Condition and Services and Include All Necessary Items as Applicable Prior to Execution of the Works. Works should be Carried out While Taking Care of the Surrounding Areas and Taking All Precautionary Measures for Safety of Staff and Working People. The Contractor shall Prepare and Submit to the Squ Engineer for Approval, the Working Drawings for the Works within Fourteen (14 Days) Prior to the Commencement of the Works. The Contractor shall Maintain Cleanliness and Tidiness of the Site during Progress of the Works and to Attend to the Protection and Temporary Covering and Barricading of Walkways and Other Hazards to Safety, All as Directed by the Engineer. Rubbish and Unwanted Materials shall be Immediately Removed and Site have to be Maintained Clean for the Next Day. The Contractor shall Provide All the Tools, Plants & Equipment at s.n. Squ Product Code Description Qty Uom Remarks His Own Cost, Which are Deemed Necessary for Carrying out His Works. The Contractor shall be Responsible for the Execution of the above Works Covering All the Items in Bill of Quantities and as Detailed in this Contract Documents. The Whole Work to be Executed are Described in Details in the following Scope of Works and Particular Specifications, Drawings and Whenever Shown on the Issued Contract Documents. B. Detailed Scope of Works 1. Civil Scope of Works the Civil Scope of Works Includes the following but not Limited to: A. Dismantling/Demolishing Existing Wall and Floor Marble/Tiles for the Ablution Area. B. Construction of Ablution Area, including Supply and Fixing of New Wall and Floor Marbles/Tiles Matching the Existing. 2. Electromechanical Scope of Works the Electro-Mechanical Scope of Works Includes the following but not Limited to: A. Supply and Installation of New Ablution Fixtures and Accessories. B. Supply and Installation of New Internal Plumbing Lines for Both Fresh Water and Sewage. C. Supply and Install Heavy Duty ss316 Recessed Floor Drain Cover. C. General Requirements the Contractor shall Study the Requirements and shall Prepare a Complete Design Proposal, Which shall Include Details of Materials to be Used According to the Specifications. Drawings Provided in this Tender Document shall be the Basis for the Design as Part of Scope of Works. The Contractor is Responsible to Check the Accuracy of the Given Drawings According to s.n. Squ Product Code Description Qty Uom Remarks the Actual Conditions at Site. Any Discrepancy shall be Highlighted in the Submittal. It is Important to Note that the Contractor Prepares Shop Drawings in Coordination with All Engineering Installations to Avoid Clashing of Services. No Installation of Any Kind or Carry out Any Works shall Commence Prior to the Approval of the Shop Drawing. All Materials Incorporated to the Works shall be New and of the Best Quality Available Unless Otherwise Instructed by the Engineer Specifically to Use Existing Usable Materials, Which was Carefully Removed at Site. Compliance with the Latest Omani Standard, Bs and Code of Practice is Mandatory at the Time of Work, Generally, All Installation Procedures and Executions shall be Done as Per Manufacturer Recommendation, Relevant Bs Code of Practice, and as Approved by the P&Md-Squ Engineer. All Services shall have Standard Appropriate Identification Labeling including Color-Coding Similar or Equal to the Existing. The Identification shall be Properly Incorporated in the as Built Drawings. The Work must be Supervised by Qualified Staff and must be Presented to P&Md-Squ Engineer for Approval Prior to Deployments at Site Commencements. The Engineer has the Right to Ask for Additional Details/Drawings Which might be Deemed Necessary before or during the Execution of the Works. D. Particular Specifications this Specification Defines the Requirements of Modification Works to be Executed under this Contract and are Described in Detail in the following Specification and Elsewhere Shown on Contract Documents. 1. Civil Works Specifications a) Removal/Cutting and Dismantling Works (Where Required) s.n. Squ Product Code Description Qty Uom Remarks 1. All the Debris shall be Disposed and Dumped to a Municipality Approved Dumping Area. B) Tiling Works 1. Walls and Floors shall be Free from Debris, Dust and Other Materials Prior to the Installation of Tiles. 2. Wall and Floor Tile Materials shall be Full-Body Porcelain Tiles with Minimum Thickness of 10 Mm. Color Shade and Design shall be for Approval of the Engineer. 3. All Exposed Corners shall have Approved Corner Beadings. 4. All Walls and Floors shall have Approved Tile Installation Layout Prior to Execution C) Blockwork and Render Works 1. Use Standard Concrete Blocks and Cement-Sand Mortar; All Materials and Mixes shall be Subject to the Engineers Approval. 2. Lay Blocks in a Running Bond Pattern, Ensuring Proper Alignment, Level, and Plumb. 3. Provide Reinforcement and Control Joints as Required; Cure All Blockwork for a Minimum of 3 Days. 4. Maintain Specified Tolerances and Clean All Surfaces after Laying. 5. Use Standard Cementsand Mortar Mix for All Rendering Works. 6. Ensure All Surfaces are Clean, Dampened, and Free from Dust or Loose Materials before Application. 7. Maintain a Render Thickness of 1520 Mm Unless Otherwise Specified; Apply Uniformly and Finish to a Smooth or Textured Surface as Required. 8. Cure Rendered Surfaces for a Minimum of 35 Days to Prevent s.n. Squ Product Code Description Qty Uom Remarks Cracking and Ensure Proper Setting. 9. Protect Render from Direct Sunlight, Rain, and Mechanical Damage during and after Application. D) Finishing Works 1. Electro-Mechanical Works Specifications a) Removal/Dismantling Works 1. Removal of Existing Services shall be Done with Utmost Care when Possible. Any Salvageable Items or Materials that were Removed shall be Handed over to the Squ Store B) Mechanical/Sanitary Works 1. Removal of Existing Mechanical Related Services, Internal Plumbing Lines, Fixtures and Fittings shall be Done with Utmost Care when Possible. Any Salvageable Items or Materials that were Removed shall be Handed over to the Squ Store. 2. Fresh Water Supply Pipes shall be Ppr and Upvc for All Sewage and Drain Pipes. 3. Single Brand/Manufacturer is Preferred for Sanitary Wares and for Fittings. 4. Drainage Cover shall be Stainless Steel ss316 E. Materials Approval All Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Items of Materials shall be New and the Best of Their Respective Kind and of Uniform Pattern Throughout the Works. Unless Otherwise Specified or s.n. Squ Product Code Description Qty Uom Remarks Instructed by the Engineer, All Delivered at Site shall be Brand New and Free from All Defects and Damages. All Defective Materials, Due to Mishandling, Incorrect Installation, etc. Shall be Removed and Replaced at once. No Repair is Allowed in this Case. If the Contractor Proposes a Material or Equipment that Conforms to a Standard Other than Specified, the Contractor shall Supply the Engineer with Full Details of the Differences at Tender Stage.
