Survey Services – Ecohydrological Study Kikbeek And Sbz Mechelse Heide. The Reason For Initiating The Ecohydrological Study Is The Stability Problems In The Kikbeek Lake, As A Result Of Which Level Increases Cannot Currently Continue In Order To Achieve The Conservation Objectives. The Ecohydrological Study Is Intended To Investigate The Effects Of Higher Lake Levels (Than The Current One) In The Kikbeek Quarry On The Surrounding Groundwater-Dependent Vegetation. In Addition, It Is Being Investigated Which Additional Measures For Rewetting In The Habitats Directive Area Of The Mechelse Heide, Ziepbeekvallei, Neerharerheide And Asbeek Are Necessary To Achieve A Climate-Robust System. The Aim Of The Study Is To Investigate The Impact On Groundwater Levels And The Boundary Conditions From Ecology Due To Increases In The Level Of The Kikbeek Lake And Of Hydrological Restoration Measures In The Mechelse Heide, Ziepbeek, Neerharerheide And Asbeek. This Should Lead To Maximizing The Recovery And Maintenance Of Groundwater-Dependent Vegetation. The Objective Is To Achieve Climate-Robust System Recovery, Without Jeopardizing The Critical Infrastructure (Such As The E314 Motorway) And The Long-Term Stability Of The Berg Quarry And The Kikbeekplas. The Preparation Of Hydrological And Ecological Model Predictions Should Serve To Investigate Scenarios For Level Rise In The Kikbeek Lake And To Develop And Evaluate The Development Of Wet Nature In The Habitats Directive Area Of The Mechelse Heide.
