Through education, media, policy engagement, and interreligious dialogue, Adyan develops initiatives that support diversity and peaceful coexistence across the SWANA region. As part of the Changing perception on Freedom of Religion and Belief project, Adyan will empower 100 religious leaders and faith-based actors (50 in Lebanon and 50 in Iraq) through tailored training sessions on Human Rights and FoRB principles, emphasizing inclusive citizenship and the practical integration of these values into sermons and community engagement. Religious sermons will be monitored and analysed to assess the integration of diversity and FoRB narratives, culminating in a regional analytical report and guidebook to support religious leaders in promoting coexistence within their communities. Adyan is seeking Senior MEAL Experts to develop standardized assessment and monitoring tools to assess how religious leaders address diversity, equality, inclusion, and Freedom of Religion and Belief (FoRB) principles in their sermons, including the messages, language, and narratives used when referring to different religious communities. The Senior Experts will also provide capacity building and technical guidance to Junior MEAL Experts, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct sermon monitoring effectively and consistently. Based on the data collected, the Senior Experts will oversee the analysis of findings and lead the preparation of the baseline report, identifying key trends, gaps, and good practices.
