Request for Quotation for RFQ-A Region-Specific Vegetation Health Scale for Mangroves Bidding Opens on: 04 August 2026 Due on: 10 August 2026 Estimated Value: AED 0 - 0 Tender Details: The Environment Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD) invites qualified and experienced consultants to submit proposals for the provision of professional services to develop a region-specific vegetation health classification scale for Avicennia marina mangroves in the United Arab Emirates. The objective of this assignment is to establish scientifically validated, data-driven Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) health thresholds specifically calibrated for Arabian Gulf mangrove ecosystems. The project will involve field-based ground-truth data collection, acquisition and analysis of satellite imagery, statistical calibration and validation of NDVI values, development of region-specific vegetation health classifications, capacity building, and submission of a comprehensive technical report. The successful bidder shall apply internationally recognized methodologies and best practices in remote sensing, vegetation monitoring, and ecological assessment to deliver a robust classification framework suitable for long-term monitoring of mangrove health in Abu Dhabi. The resulting classification scale will support EADs biodiversity conservation, environmental monitoring, and evidence-based decision-making by providing an accurate assessment tool tailored to the unique environmental conditions of the Arabian Gulf, rather than relying on generic tropical mangrove classification thresholds. Bidders shall demonstrate relevant technical expertise and experience in remote sensing, GIS, ecological field surveys, vegetation health assessment, and statistical analysis of environmental datasets. Proposals shall include a detailed methodology, implementation schedule, staffing plan, list of deliverables, relevant project experience, and a detailed commercial breakdown in accordance with the requirements of this Request for Quotation (RFQ).
