Tenders are invited for Consultant to Conduct Mapping and Risk Assessment of Plasmodium knowlesi Transmission in Cambodia FHI 360 is a nonprofit organization that mobilizes research, resources and relationships so that people everywhere can access the opportunities they need to lead full, healthy lives. Our staff of more than 2,200 experts work in over 50 countries around the world. The Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) Activity, a global project led by FHI 360, supports countries to strengthen disease detection, surveillance, data collection, analysis, and reporting systems to improve global health security outcomes. In Cambodia, STRIDES supports infectious disease surveillance, laboratory strengthening, and data use for GHS outcomes, including malaria surveillance during the Prevention of Re-establishment (POR) phase, through strengthening surveillance systems, laboratory capacity, data systems, and rapid response mechanisms in collaboration with the National Center for Malaria Control, Parasitology and Entomology (CNM). STRIDES activities are designed to achieve four objectives: Objective 1: Strengthen detection capacity and systems at national and subnational levels. Objective 2: Develop sustainable surveillance systems using event-based and indicator-based surveillance. Objective 3: Strengthen country capacity in data collection, analysis, and reporting for evidence-based decision making. Objective 4: Provide targeted technical and detection assistance during outbreaks. Location of Work: The work will be conducted in Cambodia. The Consultant will work from any location or can be based in STRIDES/FHI 360 Cambodia office and CNM. Travel: Consultant may be required to travel in and around Phnom Penh or other provinces based on discussion and project needs. Per-dem, accommodation and transportation will be provided by FHI 360 for trips to provinces. Eligibility Minimum Qualifications Advanced degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Medical Geography, Tropical Medicine, Social Sciences, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience conducting public health assessments, epidemiological studies, or malaria-related research. Demonstrated experience in field data collection and key informant interviews. Experience with GIS mapping and spatial analysis. Strong analytical and report-writing skills. Familiarity with Cambodias malaria surveillance system and malaria elimination program is highly desirable. Ability to travel extensively to remote and forested areas within Cambodia. Fluency in Khmer and proficiency in English. Desirable Qualifications The consultant will work under the supervision of the STRIDES Senior Technical Officer. The assignment is expected to be conducted over a period of 55 working days between August 31 and November 13, 2026. The consultant may work remotely for desk review, data analysis, and drafting of documents, but will be required to attend in-person meetings with FHI 360 and CNM working group as requested and visit field locations. The consultant will be responsible for coordinating and conducting consultations, incorporating stakeholder feedback, and delivering all agreed outputs within the specified timeline. All deliverables, including draft and final reports, and presentation materials, shall be submitted in English.
