Work Detail
Lasers – Delivery And Maintenance Of A High Energy Nanosecond Pulsed Laser System At 589 Nm Based On Sum Frequency Mixing Of Two Nd:Yag Lasers. A Solid-State Laser System For The Sodium D2 Wavelength (589 Nm) For Optical Sounding Of The Atmosphere (Lidar) Is To Be Purchased At The Leibniz Institute For Atmospheric Physics. The Generation Of The 589 Nm Laser Wavelength Should Be Based On Sum Frequency Mixing (Sfg) Of Two Diode-Pumped Nd:Yag Lasers With Emission Lines At 1064 Nm And 1319 Nm, Respectively. The Line Width Of The Laser Should, If Possible, Be Less Than 100 Mhz (@ 589 Nm). The Seeding Of Both Nd:Yag Lasers Should Already Be Integrated And Tested As Far As Possible In The System. At A Minimum, The Seeding Of The Two Individual Nd:Yag Lasers Must Be Prepared And Tested For 1064 Nm. The Laser Should Have An Energy Of >10 Mj At 589 Nm With A Repetition Rate Of 300 Hz And Pulse Lengths Of A Few Tens Of Nanoseconds. The Overall System Should Be As Compact And Robust As Possible Against Changes In The Environment (Mechanically And Thermally Stable), As Well As Being Long-Lasting And Low-Maintenance. The Laser System Should Have A Pc Interface With The Possibility Of Integration Into Iaps Own Software. For Compatibility Reasons, The Nd:Yag Lasers Should Be As Identical As Possible To Existing Innolas Evo-Dpss Lasers. This Is Particularly Important In Order To Be Able To Reuse As Much Of The Hardware And Software Developed In The Iap To Integrate The Lasers Into The Overall System And Thus Save Development Effort. In Addition To The Technical Similarity And The Similarity Of The Components Used, This Also Requires An Identical Software Interface.
