Aug 2026 Intervention Sector(s): Agriculture, Business & Economic Policy, Food & Nutrition, Training & Capacity Building Remuneration range: > 6000 (USD) Duration of Contract: 6 MONTHS 1. BACKGROUNDThe European Union funded 89% of the PLANBEE Project within the Interreg NEXT MED program, with a total budget of 2,807,656, of which 2,498,813.84 is a direct contribution from the European Union. It is implemented by 7 partners from 6 countries: Cyprus, Egypt, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine. The project aims to stimulate local economic growth by developing the beekeeping sector as a fundamental pillar for sustainable development and entrepreneurial excellence.The PLANBEE project seeks to strengthen sustainable beekeeping practices and promote diversification and innovation across the bee economy ecosystem.Work Package 3 (WP3) focuses on capacity building interventions targeting new beekeepers, professional beekeepers, bee-based enterprises, and HORECA actors through specialized training programmes.To support implementation, the project intends to select one or more qualified service provider(s) to design, organize, deliver, monitor, and report on Outputs 3.1- 3.2 - 3.3 - 3.4.Applicants may submit proposals for One or Multiple slots. 2. OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENTThe overall objective is to strengthen technical, entrepreneurial, and market-oriented competencies among target beneficiaries through tailored and high-quality training interventions.Specific objectives: Increase knowledge and practical skills. Promote sustainable and innovative practices. Strengthen business competitiveness. Improve market opportunities and ecosystem integration. Enhance sustainability and replication. 3. SCOPE OF SERVICESTasks: Develop curriculum and methodology Prepare training materials Organize training venue and logistics (including catering for coffee breaks and lunches, stationary, transportation, online training platforms,) Deliver theoretical and practical sessions Integrate simulation and experiential learning Conduct assessmentsExpected Deliverables:1. Introduction to apiculture2. Bee biology3. Hive equipment4. Seasonal management (including pest and disease management)5. Honey production6. Pollination services7. Introduction to business opportunitiesDeadline for training delivery: September 2026Training Duration and attendance requirements for trainees: 2 training days Total duration: 16 hours Minimum attendance: 75% Certificate of Attendance issued LOT 2 OUTPUT 3.2 ADVANCED SUSTAINABLE BEEKEEPINGTarget: at least 20 participants physically present, in addition to online participants.Indicative Modules:1. Hive Management and Bee Welfare: Good practices in hive management aim at maintaining healthy colonies, reducing stress factors, and ensuring appropriate seasonal and environmental management conditions.2. Chemical-Free or Low-Chemical Approaches: Sustainable and preventive approaches to disease and pest management, including integrated management practices and low-chemical control methods where feasible.3. Biodiversity Protection and Pollinator-Friendly Practices: The role of beekeeping in supporting biodiversity, protecting pollinators, and preserving local ecosystems and flowering resources.4. Ethical and Sustainable Honey Harvesting: Responsible harvesting practices that safeguard colony sustainability and ensure adequate nutritional reserves for bees.5. Disease and Pest Management: Identification, monitoring, prevention, and sustainable management of common bee diseases and pests in accordance with good beekeeping practices.6. Local Adaptation and Bee Genetics: Promotion of resilient, locally adapted bee populations and awareness of the importance of preserving local genetic diversity.7. Climate and Environmental Responsibility: Climate-smart beekeeping practices aim to improve environmental sustainability, resource efficiency, and resilience to climate-related risks.8. Sustainable Scaling and Business Practices: Environmentally and economically sustainable approaches to production expansion, resource management, quality assurance, and market-oriented beekeeping practices.9. Organic Beekeeping: Introduction to the principles, requirements, and relevant certification considerations related to organic beekeeping systems, where applicable.10. New Product Development and DiversificationDeadline for training delivery: October 2026Training Duration and attendance requirements for trainees: 2 training days Total duration: 16 hours Minimum attendance: 75% Certificate of Attendance issued LOT 3 OUTPUT 3.3 ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS FOR BEE BUSINESSESTarget: at least 20 participants physically present, in addition to online participants.Indicative Modules:1. Business planning2. Pricing and costing3. Branding4. Marketing5. Financial literacy6. Diversification7. Market accessDeadline for training delivery: December 2026Training Duration and attendance requirements for trainees: One regional workshop Approx. 12 hours in total Minimum attendance: 75% LOT 4 OUTPUT 3.4 BEE-INSPIRED GASTRONOMYExpanding the projects target group beyond beekeepers and bee-related businesses, Chefs will receive training in blending honey in local cuisine, upgrading traditional local recipes and creating new gastronomic experiences for tourists.Target: at least 20 chefs/cooks physically present, in addition to online participants.Indicative Modules:1. Honey tasting2. Culinary innovation3. Menu development (6 to 8 new recipes)4. Food safety5. Gastronomic tourismDeadline for training delivery: February 2027Training Duration and attendance requirements for trainees: two regional workshop Approx. 12 hours in total Minimum attendance: 75% 4. Ensure visibility in presentations. Collect photographs and videos. Obtain participant consent forms. Procurement ClausesThe TOR should include the following contractual provisions: Conflict of Interest: Applicants shall disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest. Confidentiality: All project information remains property of the contracting authority. Intellectual Property: All curricula, manuals, presentations, reports, tools, recipes, photographs, and training materials developed under this assignment become the property of the project. Non-Discrimination: Service providers shall ensure equal treatment regardless of gender, age, disability, ethnicity, religion, or social background. Data Protection: Personal data collected from participants shall be processed according to applicable data protection regulations. Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption: The contracting authority reserves the right to reject any proposal involving fraud, corruption, collusion, coercion, or unethical conduct. Payment Conditions: Payments shall be made only after approval of deliverables and supporting documentation. Performance Standards: Failure to achieve agreed outputs, attendance levels, or deliverables may result in financial penalties or contract termination.
