Appointment may be subject to satisfactory references, identity verification and any safeguarding or criminal-record checks that are appropriate and legally available for the duties undertaken. Where field engagement is involved, additional safeguarding guidance, risk assessment or training may be required and will be proportionate to the scope of work. About Refugee Biriyani & Bananas (RBB) Refugee Biriyani & Bananas (RBB) is a female and community-led, grassroots organisation working alongside people affected by displacement, war, conflict, injustice and instability. Across Greece, Gaza and Cairo, we combine direct humanitarian support with advocacy and awareness-raising. We work to ensure that communities with lived experience are actively involved in decision-making and in the design and delivery of support. Since its beginnings in 2015, RBB has grown from a volunteer-led initiative into an established UK-registered charity with a committed and growing digital community. Our communications have played an important role in raising awareness, mobilising support and generating funding for our work. RBB currently has approximately 11,400 Instagram followers and 8,000 Facebook followers, alongside audiences across its other digital platforms. We want to sustain and build on this foundation by improving the consistency, reach, engagement and fundraising effectiveness of our digital communications. As a small organisation, communications and fundraising have largely been led by the Founder and CEO alongside substantial operational responsibilities. This has enabled agility, authenticity and strong connections with the communities and supporters involved in our work. As RBB continues to grow, we are now seeking to establish a more structured, sustainable and independently managed digital communications and fundraising function. We are seeking a Freelance Campaigns and Digital Communications Lead to take active, hands-on ownership of RBBs digital communications and campaign delivery. The freelancer will be expected to create and publish consistent, high-quality content, actively manage agreed digital channels, deliver fundraising and awareness campaigns, and contribute to sustainable audience, supporter and income growth. Purpose of the Role The purpose of this role is to ensure a consistent, timely, creative and high-quality digital presence across RBBs priority platforms. The role will help increase awareness of RBBs work, grow and engage our online community, drive relevant website traffic, generate donations and build long-term supporter relationships that contribute to RBBs sustainability and impact. This is a delivery-focused campaigns and digital communications role, combining strategic thinking with hands-on implementation. The successful freelancer will take active ownership of the planning, creation, editing, publication and monitoring of RBBs digital content. They will deliver fundraising and awareness campaigns, manage agreed digital channels and communicate RBBs programmes, priorities and impact clearly and effectively. Campaigns will sit at the heart of this role, using compelling digital communications to inspire action, whether through fundraising, advocacy, volunteering, partnership development or supporter engagement. Hands-on content creation, timely publication and campaign delivery are the primary priorities of this engagement. Strategic review and planning must directly support implementation and must not delay the regular production and publication of content. The freelancer will be expected to begin creating and publishing content from the outset while reviewing and refining the wider strategy alongside delivery. RBB is currently undertaking a Digital Communications and Fundraising Audit and developing its Digital Communications and Fundraising Strategy. Building on this work, the successful freelancer will be expected to familiarise themselves with, understand and actively implement the agreed strategy from the outset of the engagement. As the organisation grows and priorities evolve, the freelancer will make ongoing practical recommendations to refine and strengthen the strategy where appropriate. Any review or refinement should support implementation rather than replace it and should remain proportionate to RBBs size, capacity and emerging needs. The strategy will be delivered through consistent content production, digital campaigns, channel management, supporter engagement and performance analysis. It should operate as a live framework that guides day-to-day delivery rather than as a standalone written exercise. Communications and fundraising activity will be regularly reviewed and refined using platform analytics, audience insights, campaign performance and fundraising outcomes. The freelancer must be creative, organised, proactive and capable of working independently with limited supervision. They must not rely solely on receiving ready-made content from RBB. Where direct field photography, video or updates are unavailable, delayed, unsafe or inappropriate to share, the freelancer will be expected to identify and create suitable alternative content using RBBs archives, reports, programme information, educational material, ethical stock assets, graphics, animations, explainers and other relevant formats. Working closely with the Founder and CEO and wider team, the freelancer will identify opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure RBBs digital communications and fundraising evolve in response to organisational priorities, audience needs, emerging trends and good practice. All communications must reflect RBBs commitment to dignity, safeguarding, ethical storytelling, lived experience and community-led leadership. The voices, rights and safety of the communities we work alongside must remain central to our communications. RBBs Current Digital Landscape RBB currently uses the following digital platforms: Website (WordPress) managed by a partner, with content provided by RBB Instagram Facebook TikTok LinkedIn Mailchimp (email marketing) RBB currently has an established online audience, including approximately 11,400 followers on Instagram, 8,000 followers on Facebook, and 1200 subscribers on Mailchimp. The successful freelancer will be expected to sustain and st Tender Link : https://reliefweb.int/job/4223600/freelance-campaigns-and-digital-communications-lead
