In The Future, 20,000 M² Of The Zoos Total Area - A Total Of 14 Hectares - Will Be Available For Keeping Gorillas, Chimpanzees And Orangutans. So Far It Has Been 0.5 Hectares Of The Zoo Area. The Vision Of Krefeld Zoo Envisages Using The Area From The Zoo Bridge Onwards, Where Great Apes And Other Smaller Monkey Species Will Live In The Future. Shared Housing Of Animals Is Implemented Whenever Possible. The Species Protection Center Is To Be Realized In Several Construction Phases. Construction Phase 2 Is Now Underway, In Which The Construction Of A New Warm House Over Three Levels With A Visitor Area In Front And Four Networked Outdoor Areas For Orangutans And Another Monkey Species Including The Enclosures (Walls, Foundations, Etc.) Of The Networked Outdoor Enclosures Is To Be Built. The Warm House Is Designed To Be Of Solid Construction (Reinforced Concrete Walls / Reinforced Concrete Ceilings / Prefabricated Concrete Slabs As Facade Cladding). The Trade Ve 02 - Steel Construction Work / Net Construction Includes The Steel Construction Work, Consisting Of Steel Supports And Net Membranes For The Construction Of Four Outdoor Enclosures For Orangutans And Another Monkey Species In The Krefeld Zoo. The Enclosures Must Also Be Usable By The Gorillas.
