The Gabion Walls Located At The Western End Of The Airfield Have Exceeded Their Asset Life (Built In 1975) And Are Critical Infrastructure For The Airport Operations. These Gabion Walls Retain The Western End Of The Runway/Resa As Well As The Upper Airport Perimeter Road. The Western Slip Roads And Associated Surface Water Drainage Were Constructed At The Same Time As The Gabion Wallspoj In 2025 Completed A Condition Assessment For These Pieces Of Infrastructure, Receiving A Full Report, Advising The Current Condition And The Required Maintenance Or Remediation Works Required To Ensure The Longevity Of These Pieces Of Infrastructure.Following A Review Of The Report, A Technical Specification Pack Has Been Generated With A Detailed Design Specifying The Required Remediation Works. Poj Require A Contractor Able To Undertake The Selected Aspects Of Works From The Designs.
