Work Detail
Architectural, Construction, Engineering And Inspection Services – General Planning For The Conversion Of The Central Experimental Animal Husbandry (Zet). At The Ukj, Animal Experiments Are Used To Understand Complex Relationships In The Body As Basic Or Translational Research. Before Conducting Animal Experiments, A Check Is Always Carried Out To Determine Whether Alternative Methods Are Available That Can Achieve The Scientific Research Goal. Animal Protection Officers Are Appointed At Every Facility Where Laboratory Animals Are Kept. A Series Of Far-Reaching Events In The Recent Past Have Significantly Changed The Image Of Working In An Animal Experiment Facility. These Include Not Only Changes In Animal Protection Or The Ever-Increasing Use Of Substitute Methods For Animal Testing, But Also The Increasingly Safe Use Of Cryogenic Technologies, Which Make Stocks Of Transgenic Rodents Less Necessary. In Addition, We Are Constantly Working On Finding Opportunities For Improvement In Terms Of Resource And Energy Savings In All Economic Routes Within A Laboratory Animal Facility. Nevertheless, Animal Experimental Facilities Remain An Important Point In The Context Of Preclinical And Clinical Research. The Renovation And Conversion Of Level 20 In Building F4 Was Already The Subject Of A General Planning Service Awarded In 2022. The Services Provided For This Are Available Until The Completed Service Phase 2. The Centralization Of Animal Husbandry Was Not Part Of The Task At The Time. A Sectional Renovation Was Planned In Several Construction Phases Without Complete Outsourcing. In The Course Of Economic Considerations And Changes To The Legal Requirements For Animal Husbandry, The Client Decided To Centralize Rodent Husbandry And Temporarily Relocate The Animal Population. This Means There Is Freedom To Build On The Entire Level And The Entire Area Can Be Renovated In One Go. The Previous Contractor Is No Longer Available For This. The Current Idea On The Part Of The User Envisages The Restructuring By Largely Retaining The Existing Room Geometry And Types Of Use (Office, Laboratory, Animal Husbandry, Etc.). A Corresponding Room And Functional Description Was Created By The User. This Must Be Checked As Part Of The Preliminary Planning And Implemented In Planning. The Planning Services For The Project Should Be Fully Provided And Coordinated By A General Planning Team. The Renovation And Conversion Of Level 20 In Building F4 Was Already The Subject Of A General Planning Service Awarded In 2022 With A Different Task. The Services Provided For This Are Available Until The Completed Service Phase 2. The Service Is Divided Into Three Service Levels And Each Service Level Is Accessed Separately, The Service Level 1 With A Surcharge. The Client Is Represented By The New Construction Division, With A Project Manager, Without External Project Management.
