Background: Jafra for Relief and Youth Development (Jafra) and Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e. V. (WHH), conducting a project supported by BMZ for Strengthening womens livelihoods and increasing the resilience of vulnerable communities engaged in smallholder and subsistence farming with a specific focus on the Palestinian camps in Beirut and in the South. The purpose of this consultancy is to provide customized coaching that addresses sector-specific operational challenges and supports business owners in refining their business models and preparing for business expansion and investment. 2. 2. Objective To strengthen the technical and commercial capacities of MSME owners by providing individualized, sector-specific coaching that improves business performance, competitiveness, and readiness for growth. 3. Specific Objectives The consultant shall: Assess each MSMEs current business performance and identify sector-specific gaps. Develop customized coaching plans for each beneficiary. Provide practical coaching that responds to the needs of each business sector. Support entrepreneurs in improving business operations, productivity, profitability, and market competitiveness. Refine existing business plans based on technical recommendations. Prepare MSMEs for in-kind business support and sustainable business growth. 4. Scope of Work The consultant will provide one-on-one coaching to MSMEs operating in sectors such as (examples): Supermarkets Beauty & Cosmetics Hairdressing Tailoring and Fashion Carpentry Metal Works Mechanics Electronics Repair Agriculture Retail Shops Home-based Businesses Digital Services Other sectors represented within the project. For each business, the consultant shall: Business Diagnosis Review previous business assessments. Visit each enterprise. Identify operational constraints. Assess production processes. Review pricing and costing. Assess inventory management. Evaluate marketing channels. Assess customer management. Identify opportunities for growth. Sector-Specific Coaching Depending on the enterprise, coaching may include: Production & Quality Improving production workflow Product quality enhancement Waste reduction Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Food safety or quality standards where applicable Marketing Branding Packaging Product positioning Social media marketing Customer acquisition Sales strategies Financial Management Pricing strategy Cost analysis Profit margin improvement Cash flow management Operations Inventory management Supplier relationships Procurement planning Equipment utilization Productivity improvement Business Growth Market expansion Diversification opportunities Customer retention Risk mitigation Business continuity planning 5. Methodology The consultant is expected to use participatory and practical coaching methods including: Individual coaching sessions Business site visits Practical demonstrations Problem-solving exercises Business performance reviews Action planning Follow-up coaching Each MSME should receive a tailored coaching plan based on its specific needs. 6. Deliverables The consultant shall provide: Inception Report detailing the coaching methodology and work plan. Individual Business Diagnostic Reports for each MSME. Customized Coaching Plans for each enterprise. Delivery of all coaching sessions according to the agreed schedule. Business Improvement Action Plan for each MSME. Progress Reports summarizing achievements, challenges, and recommendations. Final Consultancy Report including: Summary of coaching delivered Progress of each MSME Key achievements Remaining capacity gaps Recommendations for future business support 7. Duration The consultancy is expected to be implemented over [3045 working days], depending on the number of MSMEs. 8. Target Beneficiaries Approximately 129 MSMEs that have successfully completed: General Business Training Business Coaching Business Plan Development 9. Required Qualifications The consultant should possess: Education Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Agriculture, Food Technology, or another relevant field. A Masters degree is an asset. Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in MSME development, business advisory services, or enterprise coaching. Demonstrated experience in sector-specific business coaching across multiple industries. Experience supporting MSMEs in improving business performance, productivity, market access, and profitability. Previous experience working with NGOs, donor-funded livelihood projects, or entrepreneurship programs is highly desirable. MSME acceleration and business advisory experience is commonly required for similar assignments. Skills Strong coaching and mentoring skills. Knowledge of MSME ecosystems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong facilitation skills. Excellent report-writing skills in English. Fluency in Arabic. 10. Reporting The consultant will report to the Project Manager and work closely with the Field and MEAL team.
