Data-Processing Machines (Hardware) – Supply Of A High-Performance Computing (Hpc) System, Project Eqc2024-008315-P Funded By The Government Of Aragon, Feder, State Research Agency And University Of Zaragoza. The University Of Zaragoza, For The Development Of The Research Lines Developed At The Engineering Research Institute Of Aragon (I3a), Has The Need To Expand And Update The High-Performance Scientific Computing Infrastructure Of This Institute To Respond To The Growing Processing Requirements Derived From The Research Projects Currently Underway And The New Strategic Lines Identified By The Research Groups. Specifically, The Supply Of A High-Performance Computing System Is Required That Has At Least One Computing Node Equipped With 4 Gpus With Large Memory (Greater Than Or Equal To 96Gb) And Six Nodes With 2 Gpus Each, Also With Large Memory (Greater Than Or Equal To 96Gb), As Well As The Interconnection Elements Necessary For Its Integration With The Institutes Current Hpc Systems. This Acquisition Will Make It Possible To Address Projects That Require Intensive Computing Capacity, Especially In Areas Such As Deep Learning And Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Numerical Simulations, Analysis Of Large Volumes Of Data Or Computational Modeling, Ensuring The Scientific Competitiveness Of The University And The Adequate Provision Of Services To Research Groups. The Infrastructure Will Allow The Development Of Large Deep Learning Models And Complex Models Such As End-To-End Digital Twins To Offer Personalized Medical Treatments, Highly Demanding Methods Of Computational Capacity And Memory Through The Use Of Gpus. All Infrastructure Nodes Will Be Interconnected With Each Other, Through A High-Capacity Network, To Minimize Latency In Computations And Maximize Efficiency. This Communications Network Must Be Perfectly Intertwined With The Rest Of The Constituent Elements Of The Infrastructure To Achieve Maximum Efficiency. The New Computing System, When Integrated With The Institutes Current Hpc Service, Will Optimize Costs And Cover The Computational Needs Of Multiple Groups Of The Biomedical Engineering Division And The Cutting-Edge Laboratory In Personalized Medicine, The Entire Institute, To Which 34 Recognized Research Groups Belong, And Groups External To It, Leading To Highly Competitive And Excellent Multidisciplinary Research. The Suitability Of The Proposed Contract Responds To The Need To Provide The Center With Updated And Homogeneous Resources, With Compatible Components And Guaranteeing A Comprehensive Solution, Both At The Hardware Level And Integration With The Existing Infrastructure, All Of Which Is Essential To Ensure The Operation, Performance And Energy Efficiency Of The System.
