Assignment Background The "Advancing Blue Economy Innovation through Civic Engagement and Entrepreneurship" project is a focused 14-month initiative implemented in southern Jordan, with a particular emphasis on Aqaba Governorate and surrounding areas, including Wadi Rum and Petra. As Jordans only coastal city and strategic gateway to the Blue Economy, Aqaba presents exceptional opportunities to promote sustainable economic growth through environmentally responsible entrepreneurship, innovation, and private sector development. The project adopts an integrated approach that combines civic engagement, transformative leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, and business incubation to empower youth and strengthen the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. By linking business ideas to community needs while emphasizing environmental sustainability and commercial viability, the project contributes to creating enterprises capable of supporting a resilient blue and digital economy. As part of the projects sustainability strategy, the Jordan River Foundation (JRF) seeks to strengthen the institutional capacity of its staff, particularly those based at the Aqaba Center, by enhancing their knowledge and practical competencies in the Blue Economy and Blue Economy entrepreneurship. The program will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of Blue Economy concepts, emerging sectors, sustainable business opportunities, innovation practices, and entrepreneurial approaches that contribute to the sustainable use of marine and coastal resources. This capacity-building initiative will strengthen staff competencies and expand their technical knowledge of the Blue Economy, enabling them to effectively promote sustainable and innovative Blue Economy practices. Accordingly, JRF intends to contract a qualified training provider to design and deliver an advanced professional capacity-building program for its staff.
