Work Detail
Research And Development Services And Related Consultancy Services – Research Project - Dzsf - Safespace Bahnhof. Empirical Modeling Of Subjective Safety And Derivation Of Evidence-Based Impulses. The Research Project Aims To Gain In-Depth Knowledge About Factors Influencing Subjective Safety At Small Train Stations. For This Purpose, Objective And Subjective Data As Well As Studies Under Real And Experimental Conditions Are Carried Out. Combining Analyzes Result In Evidence-Based Prioritization Of Measures With The Greatest Possible Impact On Peoples Sense Of Security. The Project Will Develop An Evidence-Based Model To Explain Subjective Safety At Small Train Stations. There Is Currently Little Data Available For Such Small Stations. At The Same Time, Increasing Avoidance Tendencies Can Be Observed There. Dealing With Subjective Safety Is Relevant Because (1) The Risk Of Becoming A Victim Of Crime At Train Stations Is Low, But The Feeling Of Safety Is Still Poor And (2) Measures Aimed At Increasing Objective Safety Can Differ Substantially From Those Aimed At Improving Subjective Safety - These Are Two Largely Independent And Independent Aspects. For Example, More Surveillance And Police Presence Can Reduce Crimes And Thus Increase Objective Security, But At The Same Time Also Increase The Feeling Of Insecurity Because They Signal Danger. The Basis Of The Project Is A Theory-Driven, Comprehensive Data Collection With Large, Heterogeneous Samples, Combined With Objective Contextual Factors And Experimental Studies. Particular Attention Is Paid To Interactions Between Influencing Factors And Differences Between Social Groups. On This Basis, Evidence-Based Measures To Specifically Improve The Feeling Of Security Should Be Prioritized And Presented To The Public.
