Expression Of Interest For Enhancing Jrc Modelling Tools For Active Mobility Modes And Affordability: Comprehensive Network Characterisation And Transport Poverty Indicators. Description: The Aim Of This Contract Is To Strengthen The Analytical Capabilities Of The Joint Research Centre (Jrc)S Modelling Tools For Assessing Accessibility To Relevant Destinations (Including Employment, Healthcare, And Education Services). This Enhancement Shall Focus On Active Mobility Modes, Such As Walking And Cycling, Which Are Integral To Developing Sustainable Transport Systems And Which Complement Public Transport Models And Analyses. By Improving The Characterisation Of Active Modes And Transport Networks In The European Union (Eu), The Project Shall Enable Analyses For Specific Vulnerable Profiles And Enhance The Accuracy Of Results, To Effectively Inform Related Policy Decisions. The Contract Will Have To Provide Methodological Support To The Jrc For Generating High-Resolution (Down To A 100-Metre-By-100-Metre Scale) Indicators That Capture The Multidimensional Nature Of Transport Poverty. Such Indicators Shall Incorporate Affordability Considerations And Help Assess, For Instance, Vulnerability To Increases In Fuel Prices Or Public Transport Fares Across The Eu. Finally, The Contract Shall Support The Development Of The Transport Poverty Hub. External Support Allows The Jrc To Draw On The State-Of-The-Art Knowledge Of Researchers Active In The Emerging Field Of Characterisation Of Active Mode Networks And The Integration Of Affordability Into Transport Poverty Indicators. The Methodologies, Scripts And Documentation Produced Under The Contract Remain With The Jrc So That The Resulting Capability Can Be Maintained, Extended, And Re-Used In-House.
