Description: As Part Of Their Collaboration Under The Global Flaring And Methane Reduction Partnership (Gfmr), Pemex And The World Bank Have Launched A Technical Study To Identify Practical Opportunities For Reducing Flaring And Methane Emissions Across Selected Upstream Oil And Gas Operations. The Study Aims To Support Pemex In Strengthening Operational Performance And Environmental Sustainability By Improving The Understanding Of Emission Sources, Quantifying Flaring And Venting Volumes, And Identifying Cost Effective Mitigation Measures. The Initiative Is Intended To Help Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Increase The Recovery And Productive Use Of Natural Gas Resources, And Support The Development Of A Long Term Emissions Reduction Strategy.
