Tenders Are Invited For Treatment Of Street Sweeping Waste

Peterborough City Council Presently Operates Several Mechanical Sweepers For The Cleansing Of Surfaced Town Centre Public Spaces And Roadside Gutters Throughout The Authority Area.The Council In Its Capacity As Waste Disposal Authority, Is Seeking A Competent Contractor To Deliver The Treatment Of Street Sweeping Materials. The Materials Collected Include Litter Such As Cigarette Butts, Food Packaging, Leaf Litter, Weeds And Grit From The Pavements And Roads Of The City Of Peterborough.The Initial Contract Will Be 5 Years With An Option To Extend For Two Further Periods Of 1 Year Each, Making A Total Possible Term Of 7 Years.The Successful Contractor Will Be Expected To:•Provide A Means Of Weighing All Loads Entering And Exiting Their Proposed Sites. •Weigh Each Vehicle Delivering Waste In Accordance With This Contract, Both On Entry And On Exit Of The Site(S) Used By The Contractor In Relation To These Operations. •Maintain And Make Available Sufficient Data To Allow The Council To Meet The Requirements Of Waste Data Flow Reporting And Its Duty Of Care Legislation Under Section 34 Of The Environmental Protection Act 1990.
