Forestry Services – Excavator Work For Restoration And Nature Management, Whole Tree Harvesting And Local Transport In Nature Reserves In Subdivision 6 (North-Savo). The Procurement Includes Restoration And Nature Conservation Excavator Work, Mechanized Clearing And Whole Tree Harvesting As Well As Local Transport In Nature Conservation Areas. As A Rule, The Works Are Part Of The Helmi Habitat Program. Excavator Work May Include The Restoration Of Drained Areas, Which Restores The Water Management Of Drained Swamp Areas By Blocking Ditches And Using Dam Structures, Surface Berms And Other Necessary Measures. In Addition, Excavator Work Can Include Making Fire Lanes And Excavator Work In Traditional Biotopes And Roasting Environments. Mechanized Clearings Include Felling And Cutting Of Trees With An Energy Grapple. Whole Tree Harvesting Includes, In Addition To Felling And Cutting Of Trees, Stacking And Local Transportation. Most Of The Time, Clearing And Whole Tree Harvesting Is Done In Drained Swamp Areas Before The Ditches Are Blocked, In Which Case Trees Are Cleared From The Ditch Lines That Would Hinder The Filling Of The Ditch. Depending On The Work Site, The Trees To Be Cleared Are Either Left On The Ground Or Transported Away. In Addition To The Above-Mentioned Works, Restoration Excavator Work And Whole Tree Harvesting May Also Include Other Excavator Work That Is Part Of Metsähallitus Nature Services Job Description And Related To Nature Conservation, Mechanical Clearing, Whole Tree Harvesting Or Local Transport. A Total Of Six (6) Contractors Will Be Selected In The Tender. The Selected Contractors Will Be Used During The Contract Period As Described In Appendix 6 (Framework Arrangement Operating Model) And Appendix 7 (Draft Contract) Of The Tender Request. As A Rule, The Work Performed During The Framework Arrangement Is Confirmed Three Times A Year. The Sub-Area Division Of The Procurement With Maps And The Estimated Workloads Are Presented In Appendix 2 Of The Request For Tenders (Workload Estimates And Sub-Area Division). The Customer Is Not Bound By The Estimates Of Work Quantities Presented In The Request For Tender And Its Attachments. The Planned Start Date Of The Contract Is January 1, 2027.
