Leicester City Council (Lcc) Is Seeking To Commission A Community Food Coordinator Service For Leicester. The Contract Is Expected To Commence By 26 October 2026 For An Initial Period Of 24 Months, With The Option To Extend For A Further 12 Months.The Community Food Coordinator Will Play A Key Role In Supporting, Coordinating And Strengthening Leicester'S Community Food Network, Working With Food Aid Projects, Community Organisations And Wider Stakeholders To Improve Access To Affordable Food For Residents Across The City.The Service Will Build On The Established Leicester Food Partnership And Wider Food Aid Network, Developing Sustainable Relationships Between Food Aid Providers, Surplus Food Suppliers, Local Organisations And Public Services. The Successful Provider Will Work Closely With Leicester City Council.A Key Objective Of The Service Will Be To Develop And Coordinate Wrap-Around Support Within Food Aid Projects, Helping Residents Access Wider Services That Improve Health, Wellbeing And Financial Resilience. This Will Include Strengthening Referral Pathways, Supporting Partnership Working And Developing Community-Led Approaches That Address The Wider Causes And Impacts Of Food Insecurity.
