Structural Shell Work – Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt Information Center - Shell Construction. The Structure Is Constructed As A Reinforced Concrete Structure With An In-Situ Exposed Concrete Facade. In Order To Obtain The Largest Possible Free Area On The Individual Floors, The Vertical Components Are Limited To The Two Staircases Arranged Diagonally Opposite Each Other And Two Pairs Of Supports Arranged At Corners In The Other Diagonally. The Upper Floors “Grow” By 20 Cm In Each Direction, Meaning They Are Each Larger Than The Floor Below. As A Result Of The Floor Plans Becoming Larger Towards The Top, The Column Strands Have A Corresponding Offset From Floor To Floor, As The Distance Between The Columns And The Corner Of The Building Always Remains The Same On Each Floor. The Basement Has An Underground Extension On The Western And Northern Sides Compared To The Ground Floor. The Sanitary Areas Are Located Here In The West And Storage Rooms And Utilities In The North. In The Middle Part Of The Basement There Is An Area For The Building Services Center That Is Lowered By Approx. 1.20 M.
