Expression of Interest for New European Bauhaus Label The Commission Communication on the NEB (COM(2025) 1026) adopted on 16 December 2025 (https://new-european-bauhaus.europa.eu/new-european-bauhaus-vision-implementation_en) announced that the Commission will develop a NEB Label to reward NEB projects and practices and increase their visibility with potential promoters and investors. The Commission is now moving forward to the implementation of this action, and intends to develop a NEB Label with the aim to: - Provide visibility and formal recognition to projects in the built environment that successfully embody the values and principles of the New European Bauhaus. - Establish a common and evidence-based European reference framework for high-quality, sustainable, inclusive and beautiful NEB projects, promoting a shared understanding of what the NEB represents in practice. - Support NEB projects and initiatives to access the market and investment/funding opportunities, also by reinforcing the credibility of the NEB aligned projects among public authorities, practitioners, investors and citizens. The ultimate objective of the procurement is the delivery of an eligibility framework, an assessment methodology and scoring system underpinning a NEB Label, as well as to carry out the testing and validation of the abovementioned deliverables. The methodology should build, to the greatest extent possible, on criteria already developed through existing NEB tools and initiatives, as well as on established recognition schemes such as the NEB Prizes. These criteria should be reviewed, harmonised and adapted to the specific objectives of the Label, while introducing new criteria where necessary to address aspects not yet covered.
