Tenders are invited for Applied Research in Industry and Academia in the Field of Blue-Tech Energy. Summary: This Call for Proposals is launched under the Israel Innovation Authoritys Applied Research in Academia and Industry Program. The program supports the development and commercialization of innovative technologies by promoting applied research, knowledge transfer from academia to industry, and collaboration between research institutions and industrial partners. Projects supported under the program are expected to advance technologies toward commercial implementation. Eligible Applicants include: Industrial Corporations under the Applied Research in Industry program Technology Transfer Companies acting on behalf of academic institutions under the Applied Research in Academia program Projects must include support from an industrial partner Program Description Blue-Tech Energy refers to marine and ocean-based technologies for renewable energy generation, storage, transmission, distribution, and energy-efficiency improvement in maritime environments. This call seeks to support applied research and technology development in the following areas: Renewable energy generation in Israels maritime space Marine energy storage and transmission technologies Energy-efficiency improvement in marine infrastructure Reduction of environmental impacts through innovative marine technologies Expansion of renewable energy sources available to Israels energy sector Commercialization of academic knowledge and advanced technological solutions in the above-mentioned areas. Finance Each program has a total budget of NIS 3 million. If one program is undersubscribed, the Authority may reallocate funds to the other. Maximum budget applications from industrial corporations is NIS 2.5 million. Criteria Evaluation Criteria Applications will be assessed based on: Technological innovation and scientific merit Feasibility of the proposed R&D plan Commercialization potential Market need and expected impact Quality of the project team Contribution to the Blue-Tech Energy ecosystem Potential benefit to Israels energy sector Applications must meet the following criteria: Address one of the thematic areas listed in the call. Meet the requirements of the relevant sub-track. Demonstrate technological innovation. Present a clear R&D work plan and expected outcomes. Fall within the required Technology Readiness Level (TRL) range. Application Process Submission deadline: 15 September 2026, 12:00 PM (Israel Time). Late submissions will not be accepted. The application must be submitted by the eligible Israeli legal entity as defined in the relevant program regulations.
