Work Detail
Mass Spectrometer – Upgrade Fticr 9.4T To Solarix 7T 2Xr With Cold Head. This Contract Concerns The Second Stage Of A Plan To Update Our Exceptional Instrumentation, A Bruker Solarix This Market Includes The Upgrade Of The Electronics For The Detection Of Ions In 2Ω Mode, And A Second-Hand Magnet Compatible With 2Ω Detection Of At Least 7T And With Reduced Consumption Of Liquid Helium. The First Step In The Upgrade Of Our Ft-Icr Included, Among Other Things, Updating The Icr Detection And Signal Processing Electronics Via The Purchase Of The Neo Avance Console. This Neo Console Is Compatible With 2Xr Detection Via The Addition Of A Dedicated Electronic Card, Which Is The Subject Of This Contract. However, 2Ω Detection Requires That The Performance Of The Superconducting Magnet, Particularly In Terms Of Homogeneity Of The Magnetic Field, Meets The Requirements Of 2Ω Detection. This Therefore Requires Changing Our 9.4T Superconducting Magnet Which Currently Equips Our Solarix. This Is Why A Second-Hand Magnet, Of At Least 7T, Which Meets The Performance Criteria Imposed By 2Ω Detection, Is Part Of The Demand For This Market. In Addition, And Given The Current Geopolitical Context Which Is Considerably Straining The Market For Liquid Helium Necessary For Cooling The Superconducting Magnet, The Proposed Magnet Must Be Equipped With A So-Called “Cold Head” System Or Equivalent Which Makes It Possible To Space Out The Liquid Helium Filling Cycles Annually, Instead Of Every Quarter, With The Magnet Currently Available At The Mass Spectrometry Laboratory. In Addition To Promoting The Use Of This Mass Spectrometer In A Context Of Sustainable Development, This Change Of Magnet Also Aims To Perpetuate Its Operation Via A Significantly Reduced Consumption Of Liquid Helium As It Has Become A Highly Strategic Resource (Military, Medical, And Scientific Uses) And With Highly Limited Availability.
