For The Purpose Of This Rfeoi: Supportive Housing Is Permanent Housing With On-Site Supports At Varying Levels Of Intensity And Tenure (Transitional Or Permanent) To Help Residents Maintain Housing Stability And Enhance Their Overall Wellbeing. It Provides A Physical Environment Designed To Be Safe, Secure, And Home-Like With Support Services That Aim To Maximize Independence, Privacy, And Dignity. Transitional Housing Is A Type Of Supportive Housing Where The Infrastructure Is Generally Permanent With Temporary Tenure, Meant To Serve As A Step Between Living In An Emergency Shelter And More Permanent Housing. While There Is No Set Time For Each Resident To Stay, The Goal Is For Them To Move On To More Permanent Form Of Housing When They Are Ready. The Term Transitional Refers Primarily To The Temporary Nature Of The Housing Tenure Rather Than The Supports Provided. Chronic Homelessness Is Defined As Persistent Long-Term Homelessness, Involving A Person Who Has Been Homeless For At Least 180 Days Over The Course Of A Year (Not Necessarily Consecutive) Or Who Has Experienced Recurring Homelessness Totaling 18 Months Over A Three-Year Period. 2. Rfeoi Details Nbhc Is Seeking Expressions Of Interest From Qualified Non-Profit Organizations With Eligible Supportive Or Transitional Housing Development Projects In The Province Of New Brunswick That Will Provide Housing For Individuals Experiencing Chronic Homelessness, And That Can Reasonably Advance To Implementation Within The Next 12 To 24 Months. Eligible Projects Include: New Construction Units Acquisition, Conversion And Re-Purposing Of Non-Residential Buildings Into Housing Additions To Existing Buildings (Net New Units) Eligible Unit Types Include: Single Room Units With Shared Kitchen, Bathrooms And Common Areas Bachelor Apartment Units 1 Bedroom Apartment Units Ineligible Projects: Projects Without Confirmed Or Pre-Approved Service Provider Market Housing With Minor Affordability Set-Asides Proposals Without Zoning/Pathway Feasibility Projects For Youth, Second Stage Housing, Adult Special Care Or Nursing Home Facilities Submissions Will Be Evaluated Based On Their Potential To Reduce Chronic Homelessness, The Financial Viability Of The Project, Its Readiness For Implementation, And Approval Of The Support Service Provider By The Department Of Social Development.
